‘If You Cant Afford UON Go To KU’ Prof Kiama Respond To UON ‘Abnormal’ Fee Increment (video)
University of Nairobi’s vice-chancellor Prof. Stephen Kiama is under fire over the ”abnormal” increment of fee at the university.
According to a number of students and parents, fees in the institution have been increased up to over 120%. This has sparked a huge debate prompting protest from both parents and students.
Sources within the institution intimate that accommodation fees, worst hit by the new structure.
Students in single rooms, mostly those in third and final years will pay Sh21,525 per semester up from Sh3,150 followed while those in rooms shared by four will pay Sh15,120, up from Sh2,730.
Fresh students who started reporting to the public university from Monday 20th September 2021 will pay Sh19,635 for a room shared by two students per semester up from the Sh2,835 that UoN has been charging at its main campus.
some students claim that whenever they sort to inquire from the Vice-chancellor professor Stephen Kiama as to why the increment, the VC would cheekily respond to them.
