Gachagua’s environmental leadership has been marked by his involvement with President Ruto in launching the ambitious plan to plant 15 billion trees by 2032, in collaboration with the World Resources Institute.
He has also chaired multiple meetings on the Nairobi River restoration project, aiming to restore the river’s ecosystem and promote sustainable environmental practices. On the energy front, Gachagua has led discussions at the Global Conference on Energy Efficiency, championing sustainable energy initiatives to enhance Kenya’s climate resilience and reduce its carbon footprint.
In healthcare and education, Deputy President Gachagua has been at the forefront of launching key reforms. He has chaired meetings with regional governors to improve Universal Health Coverage and healthcare service delivery at the county level.
His engagements with UNAIDS have focused on combating HIV/AIDS, teenage pregnancy, and gender-based violence, emphasizing the importance of accessible healthcare.
