The Meteorological Department of Kenya has predicted a week-long rainfall that is expected to hit some parts of the country.
In its release, the weatherman said that between December 14 to 20, 2021, rains will hit the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, the Coast, parts of the Highlands West of the Rift Valley.
Other regions include; Lake Victoria Basin, Central and South Rift Valley and North-eastern.
The Lake Victoria basin regions include Busia and Kisumu.
Within the projected rainfall period, there would be occasional storms in some other regions like Kitui and Makueni,
“Occasional isolated storms are likely over few places especially over some parts of Kitui, Makueni and Taita-Taveta, Lamu and Kilifi Counties,” warned Met Department.
These regions will see a heavy downpour of about 70mm.
This comes even as some parts of the country including Nairobi have been witnessing heavy rains in the recent weeks.
However, the Northern part of Kenya, including Garissa, Isiolo, and Wajir will continue to witness a dry season.
