Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria will be one of the pioneers of Stem Cell surgery in Dubai.
The stem cell surgery is normally done to replace damaged cells, reduce pain, and improve individual’s range of motion.
Kuria is expected to undergo the procedure this week.
This comes after the lawmaker suffered third-degree burns after using an electric blanket he bought through a friend.
The outspoken lawmaker was first hospitalized at Karen Hospital before being flown to Dubai at the American Hospital Dubai, a world-class facility with state-of-the-art facilities that have attracted prominent figures worldwide.
“I am scheduled for stem cell surgery this week. This is a rare surgery and I will be among the pioneers to undergo it in the world,” Kuria as quoted by a local radio station
When he first opened on his ordeal, he stated that he had bought the mat in one of Total Ceragem Africa Limited outlets in Nairobi after being referred by a friend as a way to cure the numbness on his feet.
The company apologized to the lawmaker, noting that their products had never registered a complaint.
However, Kuria insinuated that he had reached out to the Directorate Criminal Investigations while urging Kenyans to seek products certified by the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS).
“The company must take responsibility. I have contacted the Directorate of Criminal Investigation, a criminal and civil process is taking place because I do believe that this issue is of fundamental and paramount importance to Kenyans that I will ensure I get to the bottom of it,” said Kuria.
The MP has since shared a rather heartfelt clip on his Facebook account, a recount of events when he underwent first treatment at Nairobi Hospital.
