MP Sudi, two foreigners in another airport drama - hivipundetv.com

Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi and two foreigners including a Tanzanian politician was on Wednesday evening engaged in a drama at the Wilson airport after officials insisted on inspecting the legislator’s luggage, plus those of his guests, Lazarus Nyalandu, a controversial Tanzanian politician and former minister for Natural Resources plus British businessman, Michael Spencer who is a member of the House of Lords in the UK.

According to reports, Oscar Sudi refused to follow airport guidelines insisting that his entourage passes through the VIP lounge instead of using the domestic arrivals section used by ordinary passengers despite officials at the Wilson airport standing their ground, leading to a stand-off between the MP’s entourage and the officials.

Despite their engagements in the country not clearly being established the two foreigners are said to have met DP Ruto at his Moiben home over an undisclosed deal. The Briton, Michael Spencer is the CEO of NEX Group, a UK-based business focused on electronic markets and post-trade business which was acquired by CME Group in November 2018.

November last year Lazarus Nyalandu was blocked from entering Kenya by the Tanzanian government on suspicion that he was seeking asylum in the country. The politician is accused of being involved in dubious dealings touching on certain Tanzanian Natural resources.

A passenger manifest seen from Wilson Airport indicates the trio left Eldoret for Nairobi on Wednesday at 10 am aboard a Pilatus PC-12 private jet tail number 5Y SRI belonging to Sirai Air but operated by East African Air Charters Limited. The plane had picked the two foreigners from Tanzania on January 2 and flew to Nairobi.

In August last year, Oscar Sudi was engaged in an almost similar fracas at the same airport when Turkish businessman Harun Aydin was arrested and deported over money-laundering links and illegal movement into and out of Kenya.
