Bevalyne Kwamboka, a 23-year-old Nairobi ‘chipo mwitu’ vendor, who recently went viral for promoting her street food business says she felt embarrassed after villagers attended her graduation ceremony all the way from Kisii in a hearse.
“I went silent for a few minutes before alerting the security detail at KU to drive them away.I must admit it was the most shocking moment of my life”Bevalyne said.
Bevalyne, who was studying to be a teacher, graduated on Friday with a degree in Education which she had pursued for the past four years.
Taking to Twitter to share the news of her graduation, an elated Bevalyne stated: “Thank you so much for your support. Your Chipo mwitu vendor made it.”
She also shared photos of herself donning her graduation hat while at her ‘chipo mwitu’ stall at Donholm roundabout.
