Ruto Cannot Become President Without Becoming Opposition Leader, Murathe Says -

Jubilee Vice Chairman David Murathe maintained his onslaught against Deputy President William Ruto as the country gears up for the 2022 general election.

During an interview with journalists at Uhuru Gardens, the vocal politician said no one in Kenya can become president of the Republic of Kenya without being an opposition leader.

According to Murathe, DP Ruto is yet to walk that path, which he must be prepared for.

“My friend, no one has ever become the President in this republic until you have become the leader of the official opposition. Uhuru was the leader of the opposition, Kibaki was one, Moi was also the leader of the opposition when he was in KADU. Even Raila has been one. Nobody can be President of Kenya without being the leader of the opposition,” said Murathe.

He also challenged Kenyans to be ready for the August 8, 2022 General Election which presumably will be a horse race between Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga and Ruto.

He said every Kenyan is titled to choosing their own leader, but rooting for Odinga this time was the only option.

You have to root for your own candidate. We are asking Kenyans to either choose Baba or Alibaba (DP Ruto).”

Murathe was one of the leaders who graced the 58th Jamuhuri day celebrations at Uhuru Gardens.

President Uhuru Kenyatta led Kenyans in the Jamuhuru Day fete and ODM party boss Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto were also in attendance.
