Why President Uhuru has called off the Jubilee NDC slated for November 30th - hivipundetv.com

The much-awaited Jubilee Party National Delegates Conference (NDC) which was supposed to happen next week on has been suddenly called off by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The November 30th meeting was expected to crack the whip on Deputy President William Ruto and his allies who have rebelled against the ruling outfit and currently are trooping en masse to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

According to reports, President Uhuru Kenyatta will be giving his State of the Nation address on November 30th and his handlers have thought it wise not to mix events on that day.

Despite a section of Jubilee MPs reading mischief from the postponement of the NDC and accusing President Uhuru Kenyatta of being indecisive about ejecting Ruto and party rebels from the ruling outfit, the president’s allies insist the State of the Nation address caused the postponement.

”This postponement will ensure that whatever decisions are taken at the NDC don’t affect the smooth running of Bunge during these last days as there are crucial matters being dealt with in this session. It was decided that trying to do both the State of the Nation and the NDC on the same day would end up mixing state and political matters when it could be avoided,” Nyeri Town Ngunjiri Wambugu said on Monday.

Another ally of the president and MP for Ndaragua Jeremiah Kioni said this latest move by President Uhuru to postpone the NDC has caused unprecedented uncertainty among Jubilee members who have been expecting the party leader (Uhuru) to give members direction.

”Without a doubt, there is anxiety among members of the Jubilee Party ahead of the planned National Delegates Convention. They expect that a clear direction is given by the party as soon as possible. The postponement of the meeting, of course, increases that anxiety. Those who want to run through the Jubilee Party also become anxious about how to go about their campaigns,” the MP said.
